Man dies following crash involving car and truck near Cannock

An investigation is underway into the death of a man in a crash near Cannock.

Emergency services were called to reports a black Skoda and a Scania tipper truck had collided in Wolverhampton Road, close to Great Saredon, at 11am on Thursday 21 August 2025.

The driver of the car involved, a man in his 70s, died in hospital on Saturday 23 August 2025.

His next of kin has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene and is assisting officers with their inquiries.

Anyone who saw what happened or who may have relevant information or dashcam footage is being asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 219 of 21 August.
