Staffordshire Police have launched a major investigation in Stoke-on-Trent following the death of a man.

Emergency services were called to Trent Vale yesterday (10 March), to reports of a serious assault.

Officers arrived at the address in Lymebrook Place at around 4pm.

They found two casualties inside, both with serious injuries.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, a man in his 30s died a short time later.

A second man, in his 40s, was taken to hospital.

The force have said the death is currently being treated as unexplained and detectives are working to find out what happened.

Police have also said they want to reassure residents that there will be an increased presence in the area to help gather information.

House to house enquiries are being completed in the local area to help find out more about what happened.
