Man in his 40s killed following fatal collision in Cannock
A number of other people were taken to hospital for their injuries
A man in his 40s has died after being involved in a fatal collision in Cannock in Staffordshire.
Police were alerted to an incident taking place on Hednesford Road in Rugeley at around 4pm on Saturday (March 22nd).
When officers arrived, they found that a grey Land Rover had collided with a green MG car, with the collision being deemed as serious.
Emergency services were called to the scene, where they provided emergency care to everyone injured; however, the driver of the MG, a man in his 0s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
As well as this, the passengers and the driver of the Land Rover were taken to hospital for their injures, but these have been described as being "minor" by the force.
The victim's next of kin has since been informed and are being supported by Staffordshire Police.
Officers are now investigating the death, and forensics are now at the scene working to establish the cause of the crash.
Meanwhile, Staffordshire Police have appealed for information and witnesses which could help them in their enquiries.
