Police have seized a machete, weapons, suspected cocaine, and over 100 cannabis plants following two drug raids in Stoke-on-Trent.

Officers from the city’s proactive team searched a house on St Nicholas Avenue, Norton, on Saturday morning (17 May) as part of a drug cultivation investigation. Inside, they found 20 cannabis plants and a quantity of white powder.

A second raid on Smithyfield Road uncovered a larger cannabis grow spread across three rooms.

In total, more than 100 plants were seized.

Sergeant Marc Proctor said: “We’re committed to tackling illegal drug activity and the criminal networks behind it. These grows pose serious risks, including fire hazards and the exploitation of vulnerable people.”

Police are working with Stoke-on-Trent City Council to target cannabis farms in council, rented, and empty properties across the city.
