14 arrests as police continue brawl investigation in Stoke-on-Trent

Weapons were allegedly used in the incident in May

Police say 14 arrests have been made, as they continue to investigate a large brawl involving firearms and weapons in Stoke-on-Trent.

Emergency services rushed to Rochester Road, Longon, on 11 May after receiving reports of a large group fighting. Firearms officers responded, and searched the area, but nothing was found.

Since then, police have been carrying out a large scale investigation, and have now confirmed a number of people have been arrested, including:

  • A 23-year-old and a 26-year-old on suspicion of violent disorder and possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence
  • An 18-year-old on suspicion of violent disorder and conspiring to possess a firearm without a certificate
  • An 18-year-old, a 19-year-old, a 23-year-old and a 25-year-old man on suspicion of violent disorder
  • A 31-year-old on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life or enable another to do so
  • A 29-year-old and a 64-year-old man on suspicion of possessing a firearm without a certificate
  • Two 22-year-olds on suspicion of violent disorder and possessing a firearm without a certificate

A 25-year-old woman, from Shrewsbury, and a 26-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, were also arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

They, along with the other suspects, have all been questioned in custody and released on bail.
