Wayne Rooney out for 'up to 6 weeks'
Captain Wayne Rooney has been side-lined for up to 6 weeks because of a knee injury according to reports.
United could be without Wayne Rooney for up to six weeks after Louis Van Gaal confirmed the striker is suffering with a knee injury.
Speaking ahead of the Reds Europa League clash with FC Midtjylland the United boss said Rooney hadn't travelled to Denmark due to a 'knee problem.'
Van Gaal couldn't confirm when he expects his captain to return but many papers were reporting it could be up to six weeks.
United have just 33 goals in the Premier League this season and losing their top striker is something Van Gaal’s admitted will be a big miss for the team.
Rooney has bagged 14 goals in all competitions this season, including 7 in the last 9 games which suggests he was just starting to find some form.
Anthony Martial is expected to take centre stage in tonight’s Europa League clash; however Van Gaal also has the option to go for youth academy graduate, Will Keane. Sam Danson
