It was the Red half of Manchester celebrating this morning following United’s 1-0 win over City at the Etihad on Sunday.

Marcus Rashford first-half goal was enough to give United the win as the Reds moved to within one point of City in the Premier League table.

United fans were screaming for a penalty in the first half as Martin Demichelis tussled with Rashford in the area. Referee Michael Oliver waved away the United appeals as things got heated between both sets of players.

Early in the second half Joe Hart had to be stretchered off after injuring himself clearing a short back pass by Demichelis who was subbed not long after his keeper left the field.

It was City’s turn to feel hard done by in the second half as Chris Smalling, already on a booking, gave away a foul on Sergio Aguero that many felt deserved a caution.

City rallied through Aguero and Wilfred Bony but United remained resolute and took all three points.

United now lie sixth in the table two places behind City, with West Ham occupying fifth spot.
