City manager sees United as example of how club's can win both competitions.
Pep Guardiola has used United as an example of how an English side can challenge for both the Premier and Champions League. The Reds were beaten in two CL finals by Guardiola's Barcelona team, winning the Premier League on both occasions as well as when they lifted the Champions League against Chelsea in 2008.
City begin their Champions League group campaign against Borussia Monchengladbach this evening at the Etihad.
The Blues will be hoping to continue their impressive start to the season which has so far seen Guardiola's side win every game- including the recent Manchester derby.
Pep noted: "United arrive in the final of the Champions League when they won the Premier League - so why not?"
