Former Manchester United manager, David Moyes, is the bookies favourite for the vacant position at Premier League strugglers, Aston Villa.

Moyes, 52, has been without a job since his sacking from Spanish top division side, Real Sociedad, in November.

This comes after Villa manager, Remi Garde, was sacked last night after a run of six defeats in a row left the Premier League’s bottom club twelve points from safety.

Since replacing Tim Sherwood as manager, the former Lyon boss has overseen just two wins.

Moyes will be eager to re-build his reputation in the English game after a disastrous spell at the helm of Manchester United. In 2013, he was chosen by Old Trafford chiefs as the successor to Sir Alex Ferguson.

Less than a year later, he was sacked by the club after overseeing their worst League performance in almost two decades. His 10 months in charge was the shortest managerial stint at Manchester United for 82 years.

The other favourites for the position are former Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson and Burnley’s Sean Dyche.
