The Premier League club have announced that Manchester City have completed the signing of Germany winger Leroy Sane from Schalke.

20-year-old Leroy Sane from Schalke has signed a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium after a fee, which was understood to be around £37million was agreed between the two clubs.

Sane’s arrival continues new manager Pep Guardiola’s rebuilding of the City squad following the signings of Nolito, Ilkay Gundogan and Oleksandr Zinchenko this summer. Pep Guardiola hopes to complete his squad strengthening before the start of the season.

The Schalke winger was confirmed as the fourth signing of Guardiola’s City squad this Tuesday with the Catalan also pursuing Everton defender John Stones and Gabriel Jesus from Palmeiras. Guardiola is hoping to bolster his squad in the final few days before they have their Premier League opener against Sunderland at the Etihad Stadium on the 13th August.

Pep Guardiola has been attempting to rebuild the squad that he inherited from Manuel Pellegrini, but he has, so far only brought in Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan. However, he will not be available for the start of the campaign as he is recovering from a dislocated kneecap, also 29-year-old winger Nolito and 19-year-old midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko, who was expected to go out on loan, but he may yet remain with the first team.

Also Everton centre-back Stones has become the priority target to strengthen his defence, but the two clubs have not been able to agree on a fee, although there could be some movement on that front after reports suggested that the Toffees are close to agreeing a deal for Swansea’s Wales captain Ashley Williams. Finally, the highly-rate Brazilian 19-year-old, is also to be expected to complete a move to the Etihad in the coming days.
