Manchester City are heading to Wembley for the Capital One Cup final after beating Everton 3-1 at the Etihad in the semi final second leg. Manuel Pellegrini’s men trailed the Merseysiders 2-1 from the first leg but booked their place in the final thanks to last night’s win.

The visitors took the lead through Ross Barkley in the first half putting them 3-1 ahead on aggregate but that lead was short-lived as Fernandinho replied for City just seven minutes later. Everton were left fuming when Kevin De Bruyne put the home side ahead following Raheem Sterling’s cross when the ball had appeared to go out of play.

Everton’s hopes of reaching the final were dashed when Sergio Aguero added a third for City with fifteen minutes left and despite the visitors best efforts, it was City’s night.

The Blues will now play Liverpool at Wembley on February 28th.
