Vincent Kompany says that Manchester City ‘are not allowed’ to give up their title hopes this season. The club captain has emphasised that City will be battling on for the Premier League title this season knowing they have pulled off significant comebacks to win it before. Sunday's 2-1 home loss to Tottenham left City in fourth place, six points behind leaders Leicester with 12 games to go. The Blues have won the title twice in the last 5 years and both times gained over 7 points on the other teams to win the trophy. Kompany was part of both of those triumphs, and said after the Tottenham defeat: `”Nobody is allowed to give up on anything…It's a setback but we wouldn't know our personal history well if we didn't expect to still kick on from here.” The City skipper has suffered with injuries this season but is “hopeful” those issues are behind him now, before underlining his determination to stay on top of the situation and remain a key figure for the club. The Blues have some tough remaining fixtures; they need to play 7 away games including Chelsea and Arsenal. They will also host the Manchester Derby at the Etihad Stadium next month.
