Challenge Cup: Belfast Giants crowned champions after Devils defeat
It is the fifth time they have lifted the trophy in the last seven finals
The Belfast Giants were crowned ice-hockey's Challenge Cup champions last night (Wednesday).
They beat the Cardiff Devils 4-0 at the SSE Arena - to claim their fifth trophy in the last seven finals.
Jackson Whistle was one of Adam Keefe's heroes of the night.
The goaltender made no fewer than 37 saves - and became the first-ever player to record a shutout in the final.
His heroics, coupled with goals from Ciaran Long and J.J. Piccinich in the first period with Jordan Kawaguchi and captain Mark Cooper finding the net in the second - gave the Giants a well-deserved victory.
