Lion cubs at Yorkshire Wildlife Park given clean bill of health after vaccinations
The trio were born to mum Aysa, who was rescued from war-torn Ukraine
Three lion cubs, who were born to a mum rescued from war-torn Ukraine, have been given a clean bill of health by keepers at Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
The two boys and one girl are two months old and were born to mum Aysa, who made the journey over to Yorkshire from Ukrainian capital Kyiv last year.
She arrived alongside females Emi, Santa and Teddi after a 2,000 mile journey from a temporary home in Poland.
The cubs have had a series of vaccinations, with keepers confirming they're hitting targets for growth and development.
Bex Brown, who is Head of Carnivores at the park, said: “We are so happy to share that the cubs are doing well."
"Their personalities are already coming through and the boys are definitely a bit more boisterous. The female is a little more delicate and keener on coming over to see the keepers.
“Their development is on track and they’re at a healthy weight, hitting good growth milestones.
"They were a little feisty during the examinations, but no one really likes going to the doctors!
"We’re taking it as a positive that they’re growing stronger and doing a good job with their defensive instincts."
