A former branch of Yorkshire Bank on Sheffield's Fargate is to become a pub, its been confirmed.

To be named 'The Fargate', the project will be overseen by local brewery Thornbridge & Co, which first announced its intentions to take on the disused building last year.

It will sit across two floors with a large outdoor area capable of fitting 250 people.

Construction is now starting with completion due this autumn.

It comes as wider regeneration work on Fargate draws to a close, with footfall increasing by 14% between March and April this year.

Simon Webster, CEO and co-founder of Thornbridge & Co said:

“This project has been over two years in the making, and we’re thrilled to be nearing the finish line."
