A court’s heard how a 24-year-old woman ‘lured’ a man to Sheffield’s Ponderosa Park where he was repeatedly stabbed.

Rebecca Moore, who is now 25, is on trial accused of the murder of Sacad Ali, 24, who was killed in the early hours of Saturday 9th March this year.

Two teenage boys have already pleaded guilty to Sacad’s murder and are due to be sentenced when the current trial concludes.

Prosecutors say the three of them attacked Sacad because they thought he was dealing drugs on their patch.

They say Moore was involved in the plan to attack Sacad, and it was her who lured him out of a flat on the promise of sexual favours. He was then attacked and stabbed to death.

The jury were told that Moore admits being a drug addict and a sex worker and she admits being with the two teenagers before the murder, but she denies any involvement in the attack on Sacad.

The court heard how CCTV captured Moore and the victim walking down a path before the two teenage boys came up quickly from behind and repeatedly stabbed Sacad.

Emergency services worked to save his life for just over half an hour before he was pronounced dead at 5.09am.

A post-mortem found he had suffered a number of deep knife wounds to his hip area, abdomen and arm but the fatal wound was to his left thigh where the main artery had been cut.

The jury were told how residents in nearby flats were woken up by screaming. One woman saw three men with weapons, with one falling to the floor as he was attacked. She dialled 999 and wrapped a snood tightly around Sacad’s leg injuries to try to stem the bleeding. She also saw a knife on the floor and feared there may still be danger so she threw it into some bushes.

Moore denies murder and the trial at Sheffield Crown Court continues.
