The family of a 24-year-old woman who died in a fatal collision on the M1 earlier this month have paid tribute to their "kind and selfless" loved one.

Aiza Nageen died alongside a man in his 20s when the car they were travelling in left the motorway and collided with a tree.

The incident happened at 11.36pm on 12th November on the M1 southbound between junctions 36 and 37.

Police said a dark grey BMW Saloon was travelling along the motorway when it exited the carriageway. Emergency services attended, but both Aiza, a passenger, and the driver sadly died at the scene.

Aiza’s family released a statement paying tribute to her, saying: "Our family is heartbroken by the loss of our beautiful Aiza in such tragic circumstances.

"Aiza was the kindest and most selfless young soul, and life will never be the same without her. We ask that people keep them in their prayers and allow us the privacy to grieve."

Police are asking for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the car in the moments leading up to the collision to come forward.
