Police have seized a shotgun as well as 'large quantities' of Class A and B drugs, following raids targeting county lines drug dealing in Doncaster.

Officers served a series of warrants last Wednesday (March 26) at addresses in the Carcroft and Balby areas.

In Carcroft a shotgun, cash and a series of phones linked to dealing were discovered, with a man and a woman in their 20s arrested at the scene.

Class A and B drugs were seized at the property in Balby, where two further arrests were made.

Two men were detained after a vehicle was later stopped in Balby, while a 22 year old man was arrested after Class A drugs were found at his home.

He has since been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine and possession of criminal property.

All other suspects have been released on bail.

Detective Inspector Laura Procter, of South Yorkshire Police, said:

"Tackling the illegal supply of harmful drugs is a priority for our team as we know the damage it causes to local communities.

"These illicit drug networks are often linked to organised crime groups responsible for inflicting violence and spreading misery and fear among local residents.

"We have listened to your concerns and recognise the harm this kind of criminality causes, and that is why we remains absolutely committed to cutting out these drug supply networks and making our communities safer."
