The English Football League says it's 'considering all options available' as its widely reported wages have gone unpaid at Sheffield Wednesday for a second time this year.

Pay packets for May have reportedly either not arrived, or not been paid in full.

The club previously reported payroll issues in March, with the Owls blaming 'cashflow issues' related to businesses owned by Chairman Dejphon Chansiri at the time.

So far we have had no statement or response from the club to allegations that staff have gone unpaid.

In a statement, an EFL Spokesperson said: “The situation is clearly concerning for all those directly affected."

"In respect of any action to be taken against the Club, the League is now considering all the options available in accordance with its Regulations.”

The situation has fuelled further calls from fans for the embattled Chansiri to finally sell the club, something he has repeatedly pledged to do.

He reportedly rejected an offer from a US consortium earlier this month.

If the wages are not paid in full soon Wednesday risks being placed under another transfer embargo.
