Sheffield Wednesday's administrators hope to grant exclusivity to a buyer by December 5.

Co-administrator Kris Wigfield said on Friday that 12 parties who have demonstrated proof of funds of £50million have already been granted access to the Sky Bet Championship club's data room.

Wigfield said several parties had come forward with "sensible offers" or given assurances that they would do so in the next few days, as Wednesday prepare to take on local rivals Sheffield United on Sunday.

"This is a very strong position for the club and a clear indication of Sheffield Wednesday's huge potential," Wigfield said.

"We will review the offers at the start of next week in the hope that by December 5 we will be able to accept a deposit and grant exclusivity, allowing the EFL's formal checks to begin."

Wednesday were hit with a 12-point penalty after entering administration on October 24.

Until Wigfield, a Wednesday season ticket holder since 1984, came in, players' wages had been delayed for five of the previous seven months under former owner Dejphon Chansiri.

The club are bottom of the Championship on minus four points, 17 adrift of safety.
