Three arrested and £280k of drugs seized after Rotherham raid
Police discovered 282 plants inside a home in Rotherham
Police have arrested three people after a raid on a cannabis factory in Rotherham.
Officers served a warrant on a property on Canklow Road yesterday (January 2), finding 282 cannabis plants worth an estimated £282,000 inside.
All have been seized and destroyed and the property, which had the electricity inside bypassed, made safe.
The three suspects all remain in custody on suspicion of the production of cannabis.
Inspector John Crapper, of South Yorkshire Police, said:
“Cannabis is not a harmless drug. It helps fund organised crime which wreaks misery on innocent members of our local communities.
“It is crucial people are aware of the connection between drugs and violent crime. We will carry on gathering further intelligence and work with partners to create safer communities.
“We would urge the public to report any concerns to us. Your information is vital in helping us tackle these farms.”
