Investigation launched into death of one year old in Sheffield

Police have launched an investigation into the death of a one year old child in Sheffield.

Officers were called by the ambulance service to Overend Way in Gleadless Valley last night, after the little girl was found to be critically ill.

She was taken to hospital in an ambulance where she later passed away.

South Yorkshire Police say they're working to ascertain the circumstances that lead to the child’s death.

The investigation is ongoing.
