Three more men charged following Rotherham rioting

A total of 113 people have now been charged in connection with the disorder last August

Police have brought charges against three more men after rioting last year outside of a hotel in Rotherham.

Crowds clashed with police outside the Holiday Inn Express in Manvers on August 4 2024.

The venue was housing asylum seekers at the time of the disorder, which came in the aftermath of the Southport stabbings.

All three men have been charged with violent disorder.

Jason McGuire, 30, of Princess Street in Rotherham will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on 28 July.

Scott McGuire, 34, of Schofield Street Doncaster, will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on 4 July.

Thomas Callaghan, 21, of Stokewell Road in West Melton will appear before Sheffield Crown Court on 24 June.

A total of 113 people have been charged over the disorder, with 94 of those since handed a combined 229 years in prison.
