Hillsborough Leisure Centre unveils £500,000 gym transformation
The £500,000 investment includes state-of-the-art equipment and new recovery space
Hillsborough Leisure Centre has officially revealed its upgraded gym facilities following a £500,000 refurbishment.
The announcement was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday (December 2).
The transformation includes new cardio and resistance equipment, a refurbished group cycle studio equipped with Keiser M3i bikes, enhancements to free weight areas, and a new dedicated recovery space. The décor has also been refreshed.
The works are part of a larger £1.3 million investment in Sheffield's leisure facilities by Everyone Active this year.
Earlier upgrades included a £750,000 refurbishment at The English Institute of Sport Sheffield and Concord Sports Centre, and a £110,000 gym makeover at Heeley Pool and Gym.
Lorenzo Clark, Everyone Active's partnership manager, said: "We are incredibly passionate about providing more opportunities for people of all ages, abilities and interests to stay active, more often, and this investment is a huge part of that."
Councillor Kurtis Crossthorn, of Sheffield City Council, added:
“This £500,000 upgrade delivers a modern, inclusive space where everyone can get active, recover, and connect.”
“From state-of-the-art cardio and resistance equipment to dedicated areas for group exercise and wellbeing, these improvements help ensure that everyone has the opportunity to lead healthier, more active lives.”
