People in South Yorkshire urged not to 'suffer in silence' when it comes to debt issues
Christians Against Poverty are encouraging more people to seek help this January following the expense of Christmas
People struggling with debt across South Yorkshire are being encouraged to 'open up' about any issues they're having - when it comes to managing money.
New research suggests a third of people in Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley, and Rotherham are suffering from 'financial anxiety'.
Joe Beardsall is from Christians Against Poverty in Barnsley - who offer free debt advice as charity to anybody in need of help.
He says it's a tough time for many:
“Winter often brings financial anxieties, and with energy bills and prices continuing to rise, the pressure all adds up.
“If you’re struggling with your finances my message would be to seek free debt advice as soon as you can.
"There's often a stigma with debt, but it's important to dismiss that - so many people struggle with their finances - especially at this time of year."
