Three people have been taken to hospital following a fire at a house in Sheffield, believed to have been caused by an e-bike.

Several people were in the property when the first started on Sunday morning (April 28), and managed to escape by the time firefighters arrived.

The inside of the property on Ecclesall Road was completely destroyed in the blaze, which residents told Hits Radio was similar to a "gas explosion".

One neighbour, who walked past at the time, said: "I saw loads of fire engines and police and wondered what it was and saw the house on fire. I thought it was a gas explosion at first."

Another neighbour, a woman, said: "You just can't imagine it can you, it's so sad what's happened."

All those in the house were accounted for.
