Convictions in South Yorkshire over disorder following Southport stabbings

A number of people have pleaded guilty to violent disorder

South Yorkshire Police have confirmed three people have pleaded guilty to violent disorder in Manvers, Rotherham.

A spokesperson from the force confirmed the two teenagers and a 22 year old admitted the offence at Sheffield Magistrates Court yesterday

The two over-18s will be sentenced on Tuesday, whilst a 17-year-old will be sentenced later this month.

Those to have been convicted of mass violent disorder are:

  • Kaine Hicks, 22, of Wombwell Road, Platts Common, Barnsley appeared before Sheffield Magistrates' Court on 10 August and pleaded guilty to violent disorder. He has been remanded in custody and will appear before Sheffield Crown Court on 13 August for sentencing
  • Drew Jarvis, 19, of no fixed address appeared before Sheffield Magistrates' Court on 10 August and pleaded guilty to violent disorder. He has been remanded into custody and will appear before Sheffield Crown Court on 13 August for sentencing
  • Ricky Hardman, 41, of Norfolk Road, Barnsley appeared before Sheffield Magistrates' Court on 9 August and pleaded guilty to violent disorder. He will appear before Sheffield Crown Court for sentencing on 12 August
  • 18-year-old Kenzie Roughley of Barnsley Road, South Elmsall, Pontefract has pleaded guilty to violent disorder. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on 9 August
  • 26-year-old Joshua Simpson of no fixed abode has pleaded guilty to assault of an emergency worker. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on 27 August
  • An under-18, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has pleaded guilty to violent disorder and will appear before Sheffield Magistrates' Court on 2 October 2024
