Chesterfield will be returning to the Football League after they finally confirmed their promotion as champions of the National League.

A 3-0 win at home to Boreham Wood this afternoon has provided the confirmation the Derbyshire team needed to make it into League Two.

Two goals from Jamie Grimes and one from Liam Mandeville secured a comfortable victory for the home side against their Essex based opponents.

Chesterfield's nearest challengers at the top of the National League - Barnet - are now more than 20 points behind them.

The Spireites could have booked their place back in the English Football League before today's match, but they've suffered a couple of recent setbacks.

However now celebrations among players, staff and fans are in full swing.
