New ADHD clinic in South Yorkshire seeing a constant 'rise in referrals'
The Montrose Health Group opened up the facility in Sheffield back in April this year
Neurodivergent people in South Yorkshire & North Derbyshire are being advised to 'show courage' & get help if they're struggling to cope with life.
Two months ago - the Montrose Health Group opened a new ADHD clinic in Sheffield.
The Chief Exec there is Jonathan Edgeley - who admits he has ADHD - & believes the service is making a positive difference:
"We are seeing an increase in ADHD referrals, and I think that it's people that are for the first time really starting to consider what is going on for them.
"Although somebody may feel they've got ADHD, they may not; it may be linked to trauma, it may be linked to addiction, or even anxiety.
"I think the conversation is opening up the door for people to come in and talk about it, which is a good thing.
"We do describe ADHD as having a Ferrari brain with bicycle brakes.
"I see so many people coming in here who are really struggling to connect.
"Their ADHD may isolate them in some cases, or it can get them in a place where they're detached from family, loved ones or friends."
