You've got your Tramlines ticket, and in less than 7 days the festival awaits... you're probably thinking: What's the set list? What food and bevvies can I get? Where can I unload (literally...) and rest up? Well, look no further as we've got the top 10 things you need to know to ensure you have a musical extravaganza at Tramlines Festival bonanza! 💃 🕺👇

🌟 1. Tramlines App & Map

The official 2023 Tramlines App is here! You’ll be able to browse the lineup, pick and share your favourite artists, create a brilliantly bespoke schedule of where and when to go and get the latest announcements and news sent straight to your phone... Sorted! 🤳

Brand new for 2023 is the 'clash finder' function. Gone are the days that your day will be an unorganised push and pull between competing acts - with 'clash finder' you can ensure you're well prepared for the day ahead! 🤝

🌟 2. Food & Drinks

No festival is without the best food and drinks to quench your thirst and ensure you've got the energy to boogie the day and night away! This year, Tramlines has six bars with a variety of beverages and a diverse range of food and drink to cater for everyone including Gluten Free, Vegetarian and Vegan options! 😍

Yorky Puds: Yorky puds filled with bangers and mash, dripping in onion gravy: it's the ultimate comfort food! (V)

The Middle Feast:For those in search of a fresh festival experience, Middle Eastern BBQ offer a variety of oven-fire mezzes and flatbread kebabs filled with tasty salad, slaw and sauces. Halloumi fans, this one's for you! (GF / V / VE)

You're My Lobster:Feeling a little bit bougie? Why not try a lobster roll or posh fish finger sandwich. (V)

Yay Churros:Fresh churros all year round and even better still: they're completely vegan!

Teabag Chilhuahua:Tasty, wholesome and uncomplicated Mexican food inspired by Native American culture, southern barbecue and Latin influences.

The Gravy Train:All aboard folks! Try some modern gourmet twists on the Canadian cult classic, poutine.

Tramlines has partnered with Paddlers to bring some of the best street food and DJs to Hillsborough Park! 😉

New York'shire Pizza Co: Specialising in thin and super crispy wood-fired Pizza, Winston and his team at New York’shire Pizza Co. are regulars at Peddler Market. Their mouthwatering Blinkin’ ‘eck Pep and Ay Up Mega Meaty varieties are a special hit with customers and we can’t decide which to try first! Gluten-free / Vegetarian / Vegan options available upon request.

Yuzu Street Food:Born out of a love for experimenting, Yuzu Street Food specialise in Asian fusion food from Katsu to Ramen, Bao to Wings, taking inspiration from Japanese, Thai, Korean and Chinese cuisine to create incredible dishes with huge flavours. Gluten-free / Vegetarian / Vegan options available upon request.

Depot Bakery:Depot Bakery are an independent artisan bakery, cafe and kitchen. Depot have been serving up ambitious, internationally inspired baked goods across Sheffield for almost ten years and we’re so excited to sample their sweet treats on site this summer

🌟 3. Tramline Set Times & Stages

Tramlines is a festival for everyone, whether you fancy a bench hangout with a pint and your pals, some family entertainment to keep the kids occupied, getting sweaty in a mosh pit, seeing some world-class acts or having a laugh at some top notch comedy – Tramlines has got you covered. 🤩

The Sarah Nulty Main Stage

The focal point at Hillsborough Park, The Sarah Nulty Main Stage features a varied array of performances from incredible acts across the weekend. Dedicated to Tramlines' late, inspirational festival Director Sarah Nulty, the stage is a way of remembering Sarah's incredible work and passion she put into making Tramlines the event it is today.

T'Other Stage

Home of Tramlines' afternoon Comedy, T'Other stage hosts highly rated comedians and local legends. Afternoons at T'Other stage are sure to be filled with back to back laughter, with previous sets from Jason Manford, Russell Kane, Joel Dommett, Milton Jones, Ed Byrne, Jo Jo Sutherland and many, many more
When the Comedy is over, T'Other stage showcases Tramlines' more eclectic offering. From pop, bassline and grime, to rap, DJs and indie bands, you can find a whole host of genres on our second stage, there's something for everyone.

The Leadmill Stage

The Leadmill is a true Sheffield institution with over 35 years of providing platforms for bands who have gone on to take over the world
Their stage at Tramlines features guitar bands and the very best of the local scene, handpicked by the venue themselves, it's a venue to get some serious moshing done

Library Stage

Set back from the hustle and the bustle of the main arena, close to the historic Hillsborough Library. The Library stage is all about discovery, with a lineup that leans to the left and supports emerging talent, whilst hosting the majority of the Tramlines' Apply to Play slots.

The Open Arms

Tramlines' very own pub! The Open Arms is the perfect place to grab a pint and discover some something weird and wonderful. This venue is all the fun and no frills!
The Open Arms sets off with charity performances from Under the Stars and Paces, followed by a daily Speakers Corner takeover, featuring some of the UK's best poets and spoken word artists, all curated by Sheffield's 2020 Poet Laureate – Otis Mensah.
When the poetry's over you'll be able to stumble across a Barry from Eastenders' karaoke session, join the Hip Hop Karaoke or get stuck in at Musical Bingo. All topped off with local club nights for a party to end all parties.

🌟 4. Family activities

Into the Trees returns for 2023, to provide all things fun for the families and little ones of Tramlines! Not only do Under 12’s get to enjoy the festival at a heavily discounted price, they have a huge list of things to keep them entertained and busy bees throughout the weekend.🫶

Expect firm favourites The Flying Seagull Project, arts + crafts, the mighty Kids Rave, Spray Paint Workshops with local artist Marcus Method, Responsible Fishing plus the exciting arrival of Lidl GB Mudder - can your kid be crowned Tramlines champion?! 💪

Also not to be missed and brand new for 2023 is the Kapow! Retro Gaming den, packed with your favourite consoles from the past 🎮

🌟 5. Tramlines Do's & Don'ts

Keep safe and follow these guidelines below 👇 :

YOUR TRAMLINES ESSENTIALS

TICKETS – Bring your e-tickets (printed or downloaded to your mobile phone) and bring them to the festival each day to be scanned.

CASH/CARD– All Bars and Official Merchandise vendors will be completely cashless and will only accept card or contactless payments. All Traders and Fairground rides will be accepting cash and card payments, there will be an ATM Machine at the Festival should you need to withdraw money.

ID – If you are under the age of 16 you will not be allowed entry into the festival without a responsible adult. We operate a strict ‘Challenge 25’ policy at all bars. Passport, Driver’s Licence, Validate UK or Citizen Card are accepted. Please note: Photocopies will not be accepted as a form of ID to purchase alcohol.

REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE – Remember to keep hydrated. There are plenty of water points inside the festival. You are welcome to bring your own refillable water bottle (500ml max), please make sure it is empty on your arrival to the Festival. Alternatively, you can bring a sealed 500ml water bottle.

SUITABLE CLOTHING – The weather is constantly changing. Please check the forecast and dress suitably for the weather.

PHONE – For finding friends and taking snaps.

SUNCREAM – Keep yourself protected. No bottles over 100ml. No glass.

PORTABLE CHARGER – Keep your phone charged.

FULL LIST OF PROHIBITED ITEMS

The following items are not permitted to be taken into Tramlines and will be disposed of at the point of entry:

Controlled substances (including psychoactive substances)

Glass / aerosols / gas canisters / BBQs / weapons / sharp objects

Pyrotechnics / flares / fireworks / lasers / laser pens

Food / alcohol

Golf umbrellas / flags / chairs / camping equipment

Animals (with the exception of assistance dogs)

Large bags (no bags bigger than an A4 piece of paper)

Professional camera or video recording equipment (including SLRs and anything with a detachable lens)

No bikes / skateboards / scooters.

No megaphones / large amplification equipment / klaxons / air horns.

Chairs

Food/Drink: with the exception of a sealed 500ml water bottle, empty refillable bottle and baby food).

Valuables: don’t bring anything you can’t afford to lose. Tramlines will not take responsibility for any personal possessions.

🌟 6. Safe Space Now

‘Safe Spaces Now’ Activity Tent – an informative and educational space at Tramlines run by UN Women UK that will engage with festival goers of all genders, to educate us all on the issues of safety and bystander intervention. Tramlines will also provide access to helplines, resources and on-site safe spaces for additional support and disclosures should an incident occur.

Safe Space tent will provide a place for festival goers to engage with the initiative, learn about the issues surrounding sexual harassment and understand the topics. This high energy, vibrant space is in addition to our welfare facilities.

Trained UN Women UK ‘Guardian Angels’ will be easy to spot across the festival site wearing bright UN Women UK T-shirts. Guardian Angels are on hand to ensure that all festival goers feel supported by trained volunteers who can intervene safely or provide support in case of an incident.

For those lucky enough to get yourselves a VIP pass here are your perks:

You can also upgrade your pass to a VIP pass to ensure you've got all these snazzy opportunities!

🌟 8. Planning your journey

There are 2 Entrances:

Penistone Rd Entrance: Hillsborough Park, Penistone Rd, Sheffield, S6 2AN

Middlewood Rd Entrance: Hillsborough Park, Middlewood Rd, Sheffield, S6 4HA

Tramlines is a metropolitan festival aiming to reduce the environmental impacts. They encourage visitors to use public transport and not travel by car where possible. You can purchase an official car parking ticket via the car parking page here.

Please remember you don’t have to rush home – To avoid congestion Tramlines will be extending festival-closing times so you can stay within the festival site until 10.30pm on Friday and Saturday while on Sunday you can stay till 9.30pm, some of the bars and food stalls will still be serving until this time!
