Man who travelled to Swansea to sell Class A drugs jailed
22 year old claimed he had come down from Stoke-on-Trent for his birthday
A man from Staffordshire has been jailed after he was discovered supplying Class A drugs in Swansea.
22-year-old Thomas Hulson, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, was spotted acting suspiciously in a vehicle at Carmarthen Road Business Park in Cwmdu.
Also in the vehicle was a known controlled substance user. Hulson claimed he had come down from Stoke-on-Trent for his birthday and did not know the other person in the car. He was in possession of four mobile phones, drug equipment and substances which he intimated to officers were Class A.
He also claimed that others had thrown containers of Class A drugs into his car, and he had no idea of the contents, even though he had stashed these containers into his underwear.
Hulson was arrested and later pleaded guilty to multiple counts relating to possession and supply of cocaine and heroin.
He has been sentenced to 27 months in prison.
Sergeant Lee Johns said: “It is clear that Thomas Hulson had come down to Swansea purely for the purpose of selling Class A drugs.
“When he was caught in the act, he decided to lie to police officers about what he was doing, despite the evidence being immediately clear and obvious.
“This was sheer stupidity on Hulson’s part, as was him involving himself in the illegal drug trade in the first place.
“He will pay for that stupidity with a spell in prison.”
