Suspicious package at Swansea Central Police Station

The cordon has been lifted and roads reopened

South Wales Police was made aware of a suspicious package at Swansea Central Police Station just after 7.25am this morning.

Emergency services responded and a cordon was put in place in surrounding streets as a precaution.

The roads affected included Grove Place and Mount Pleasant.

The cordon has been lifted and roads reopened.

The package was declared safe by specialist South Wales Police officers just before 9.45am.

A 37-year-old man from Swansea has been arrested on suspicion of communication of false information.
