Police given extra time to question two men over Rhydyfelin death
22-year-old Liam Woolford died following a disturbance on Tuesday morning
South Wales Police have provided an update in their investigation into the death of a man in Rhydyfelin.
Yesterday, 22-year-old Liam Woolford from Porth, was identified as the man who died following a disturbance in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
This morning, South Wales Police issued the following statement:
"On Tuesday morning, September 23, just before 00:40am, police received a report of a disturbance on Poets Close in Rhydyfelin.
"A 20-year-old woman from Penygraig who was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent has been bailed for further enquiries.
"Detectives have been granted further time to question a 30-year-old man from Rhydyfelin arrested on suspicion of murder and attempt murder and a 22-year-old man from Tonteg arrested on suspicion of murder. They both remain in police custody.
"Two other men remain in hospital.
"We want to express our gratitude to the local community of Rhydyfelin for their support during this investigation. "
