Police in North Wales have confirmed they have found the body of a man in the search for a missing 75-year-old.

Brian Perry had gone missing on Saturday (November 23rd) amid the high winds and stormy conditions that were brought by Storm Bert over the weekend.

Officers have now confirmed that a body has been recovered close to Gower Road in the town of Trefiw.

Emergency services including fire and rescue services were also drafted in to help find the man.

The man's family have been informed of the discovery and formal identification is set to take place in due course.

Speaking about the case, Chief Inspector Simon Kneale of North Wales Police paid tribute to the emergency services for their help in the search.

"I would like to thank the efforts of all agencies involved in the searches in very difficult conditions and for the local community who supported the teams in the area," he said.

"Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time and they have asked that their privacy is respected."
