Man taken to hospital after stabbing in Cardiff park

South Wales Police say there will be an increased police presence in the area

Police are investigating a stabbing in a Cardiff park.

A cordon was set up around an area of Llandaff Fields following the incident at around 5.30am.

A 55 year old was taken to hospital with stab wounds where his injuries are described as 'non-life-threatening'.

Detective Inspector Bob Chambers from South Wales Police, said: “Understandably the local community, and users of the park, will be concerned by what has taken place.

“This is an isolated incident, and the motive is currently unknown.

“Extensive enquiries are on-going and there will be an increased police presence in the area while we establish the circumstances of this incident.

“The support of the community is very much appreciated, and we appeal for anyone with information or concerns to please contact police.”
