Bridgend centre reopens after police evacuation
South Wales police evacuated a major street in Bridgend town centre after two devices were found

After South Wales Police evacuated an area in Bridgend town centre twice, they can confirm the cordon has been lifted.
The first unexploded ordnance was discovered in Cheapside in the morning of the 30th of July 2025.
A second device was found on Brackla Street.
A cordon was put in place but has now been lifted.
A South Wales Police statement read:
"The second unexploded ordnance discovered in Cheapside, Bridgend, earlier this morning has been safely removed.
"All the cordons have been lifted, and Brackla Street is now accessible to the public once again.
"We would like to thank the public for their patience and co-operation whilst we dealt with the two incidents from this morning. "
