A Bargoed man who ‘spread misery’ by selling heroin and crack cocaine has been jailed.

Dylan Harley was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday 1 April following a neighbourhood policing investigation into the supply of class A drugs in the Caerphilly borough.

Harley, 44, was arrested during a police raid at his address on Oak Place on Friday 17 January, when officers found and seized class A and B drugs, weapons, cash, a mobile phone and drug paraphernalia.

In court on Tuesday, Harley pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A - heroin, concerned in the supply of heroin, and concerned in the supply of crack cocaine.

He also admitted to possession of an offensive weapon in a private place and possession of criminal property.

Harley was sentenced to three years and nine months imprisonment.

Inspector Lysha Thompson, who leads the neighbourhood team that arrested Harley, said:

“Class A drugs, particularly heroin, can rip families and communities apart.

"Dealers prey on the vulnerable and spread misery – with no thought but lining their pockets.

“Neighbourhood officers across Bargoed and Rhymney are continuing to target those we believe to be involved in the supply of controlled drugs and hope this case and result highlights that we will act on any information you have.”
