Solent forts fetch over £2m at auction
The Victorian era structures had been turned into luxury hotels
Two Victorian forts in the Solent have fetched over £2m at auction.
The forts, Spitbank and No Man's, went under the hammer with auctioneers Savills on Tuesday.
Spitbank Fort sold for £1,010,000, whilst No Man's Fort went for £1,120,000.
The forts were originally used as coastal defences against Napoleon, but had since been converted into hotels with helipads, saunas and nightclubs.
The hotels have not been in use since the pandemic.
