Over the last ten weeks, there has been zero livestock deaths in the New Forest as a result of collisions.

New Forest Roads Awareness says it's "good news" and it's the first time they've seen it over ten years.

Two ponies have been injured in that time, but not fatally.

Meanwhile, there have no RTC's in the last six weeks.

The verderers have thanked people for driving carefully in the area.

They also say credit needs to go to the joint working of the Animal Accident Reduction Group and to the Police officers that run Operation Mountie.

On the New Forest Roads Awareness Facebook page, a post says:

"Every animal is owned, and has it's place in shaping the New Forest. Please help us to keep this going on. With Foals on the roads, and the Stallions out everyone one of us has to #expecttheunexpected #bepreparedtostop Thank you all."
