Major fire at Bishopstoke Toby Carvery restaurant

A major fire's being tackled at the Toby Carvery restaurant in Bishopstoke this morning (Sunday 29th December).

Six engines were called out to the scene at around 3.45am, with an aerial ladder platform also used.

At its height, six fire engines were tackling the fire at the Toby Carvery in Bishopstoke

Local residents are asked to keep doors and windows closed due to large amounts of smoke.

The B3037 was closed for a time to allow for emergency services to access the restaurant.

The route was reopened just before 8.00am.

Just two fire engines remain on the scene, with checks being made for any further hotspots.

There's no cause of the blaze at this stage, with investigations to be carried out once it's safe to do so.
