A man has been charged after a man in his 20s died in a crash near Sherborne.

It happened on the A30 at Babylon Hill in February 2024, when a Mini Cooper and a lorry collided.

A Dorset police spokesperson said: "Dorset Police received a report at 4.08pm on Tuesday 20 February 2024 of a collision on the A30 at Babylon Hill, near to the junction with Marl Lane, involving a blue Mini Cooper and a blue Volvo articulated lorry.

"Emergency services attended and the driver of the Mini, a Yeovil man aged in his 20s, was taken by air ambulance to Southmead Hospital in Bristol having sustained serious injuries.

"Very sadly, he died in hospital on the evening of Wednesday 21st February 2024. His family were informed and are being supported by specially trained officers."

A 61-year-old man will appear before Bournemouth Crown Court on 25th September, accused of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving.
