Police in Hampshire are investigating after two men allegedly demanded an elderly woman pay for repairs to her roof which were not required.

The men attended an address in Jacklyns Lane, Alresford, around 9am on Friday 14th March.

It was reported they offered to clean the home owner's gutters, but then claimed she had damaged roof tiles and demanded £300 in order for them to repair the damage. The woman refused to pay the men the money.

As part of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary's enquiries, officers are keen to speak with anyone else who may have spoken with the two men or who may be able to identify them.

The first is described as being between 30 and 40 years old, around 5ft 5ins tall, white, and of regular build. He's reported to have had short brown hair, and wearing a white and blue striped t-shirt.

The second is described as being between 14 and 18 years old, around 5ft 2ins tall, white and of thin build. He had brown hair and was wearing a khaki jumper.

They were described as being in a Ford Transit van.
