Cyclist killed in collision near Chichester

Two people are in custody following the incident on the Birdham Straight

Police are appealing after a cyclist died following a collision with a car near Chichester.

Officers were called to reports of a collision between a bike and a silver Vauxhall Zafira car on the A286 Main Road at Birdham at around 8.20pm on Tuesday (October 26th).

The cyclist – a 26-year-old man from Chichester – was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sussex Police confirmed that a 34-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Both remained in custody as of Wednesday afternoon.

Officers investigating the collision would like to hear from any witnesses or anyone who may have captured any relevant dash cam footage.
