A woman has been transported to a specialist burns unit for treatment

A woman has been airlifted to a specialist burns unit following a serious house fire in Wolverhampton.
Emergency services were called to a property off The Parkway in Perton at 3:56pm on Tuesday, (April 15).
West Midlands Ambulance Service responded to the scene alongside fire crews, dispatching an ambulance, a paramedic officer, and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford.
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Ambulance staff arrived to find the woman out of the house with serious injuries. She received advanced trauma care by the team of medics on scene before being airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency care.”
The extent of the woman’s injuries has not yet been confirmed.
A fire investigation is likely to follow to determine the cause of the blaze.
