Trams in the West Midlands cancelled due to overhead line damage

There are no trams running on part of the West Midlands Metro network

Overhead line damage to part of the West Midlands Metro network, means some trams are cancelled and are not running this morning (7 March).

In a post online, the operator said there are no trams running Wolverhampton Station and West Bromwich Central "until further notice".

It is as a result of the line damage near its depot.

In a statement, it said: ""We apologise for the inconvenience caused. Our engineers are working to repair the damage as soon as possible".

Five trams are running between West Bromwich Central and Edgbaston Village with tickets also being accepted on buses and trains.

Tickets will be accepted on National Express 79, 74 and buses between Colmore Row and Hagley Road, and on West Midlands Railway Services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham.
