A man has sadly died after a serious house fire in Malinslee, Telford, in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday, April 16).
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the incident at 12:31am.
Crews from Telford and Tweedale fire stations responded to the emergency.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and attempted to rescue a man believed to be in his 60s.
The fire was brought under control using hose reel jets.
The man received initial care from fire crews before being handed over to the Ambulance Service, who continued treatment at the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “When ambulance staff arrived, they found fire colleagues administering CPR to the man.
"The team of ambulance staff took over advanced life support but sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone on scene, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased a short time later.”
