Police appeal after cyclist 'seriously injured' after crash

A man in his 50s was taken to hospital were he remains in a 'critical condition'

A cyclist was left 'critically injured following a crash on Hanwood Road (A488) in Shrewsbury

The incident occurred on Friday (February 28th) at around 4.30pm. When a white Nissan panel van and man on a bicycle travelling in the same direction collided on Hanwood Road, towards the A5.

Police have said the cyclist, who is in his 50s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

In a statement, a spokesperson for West Mercia police said:

We are appealing for witnesses following a collision between a van and a cyclist in Shrewsbury yesterday afternoon.

The cyclist, a man in his 50s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital where his condition is critical but stable. No arrests were made.
