A man's in a "life-threatening condition" in hospital after reportedly being stabbed in Walsall.

Emergency services were called to Norfolk Place around 5.15 pm yesterday (17th March) to reports a man in his 20s had been stabbed.

West Midlands Police were given special powers overnight, known as Section 60 Powers, meaning they could stop and search people without reasonable grounds.

The Force say they were concerned the incident on Norfolk Place could lead to violent disorder, so put the Section 60 Powers in place overnight.

They are due to be lifted 10 am this morning (18/03).

The force said it would also have officers patrolling in the area to offer reassurance to the community.
