A man, charged with murder in Wolverhampton, has pleaded not guilty.
Ryan Griffiths, 29, was seriously injured after being hit by a car on Burleigh Road just before 9pm on 21 August this year. The car fled the scene and Ryan died in hospital two day later.
The following Monday (26 Aug), Aden Wright, 26, was arrested on suspicion of murder.
He's been before Wolverhampton magistrates today having been accused of the hit-and-run.
Wright, of Griffiths Drive in Wolverhampton, spoke only to confirm his name and enter his plea in the dock during the short hearing.
The judge told the court the trial is due to start in February and is expected to last two weeks.
In a statement released by police days after Mr Griffiths's death, his family paid tribute to him as a "loving and devoted son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and cousin".
They added: "Everyone is devastated by his sad loss and he will be sadly missed."
