Man dies in fatal Shropshire collision as police launch investigation

An 83-year-old man died after a Peugeot collided with a parked car

Police have launched an investigation after an elderly man died following a fatal collision in Shropshire.

Officers from West Mercia Police were alerted to an incident taking place on Turreff Road in Donnington just after midday on Saturday (July 12th).

When responders arrived at the scene, they found that an 83-year-old man had suffered serious injuries after his Peugeot crashed into fences, as well as a parked car.

The man was seen to by emergency services, but officers sadly pronounced the man dead a short time later; no one else was injured.

West Mercia Police confirmed that an investigation was underway, albeit in early stages.

Enquiries are now underway, and officers are now asking anyone who may have any information to get in touch as soon as possible.
